Solving An Age Old Problem?

The Auger Pressure Grouted Displacement (APGD) Piling construction method has helped solve an age old problem that has always haunted the APG pile: what to do with the augered spoil the continuous auger conveys out of the ground. Spoils are minimal icon as the APGD begins its descent. Minimal spoils are especially critical in contaminated soils.

The Berkel patented bit displaces the soil while drilling the pile, and when the auger is removed there are minimal spoils icon. Click here to view APGD animation. Today APGD piles can be installed to depths up to 75 feet with design capacities of more than 175 tons. Pile diameters available are 14, 16, and 18 inch diameters.
